Why Christian Schools Like Ridgewood are Important Print
Students - Student Opinions
Written by Jeanie Johnson
What would happen if there were no Christian schools in America? What if all students had to attend public schools? Is there really a significant difference between public schools and Christian schools? Well, there should be! Most Christian schools are built on the Bible and employ teachers who love GOD and their STUDENTS. These teachers, although not perfect, strive to please the Lord, and pass along the Godly knowledge that they themselves have learned and lived. That is the main difference between the two different kind of schools.

Activities - Student Leadership

Going to a foreign country can change a person’s perspective and can be life changing. While in Italy, Dr. Johnson spoke about many life lessons around Italy. The first few days in Europe we spent in Florence, and the last part of the week we spent in Rome. Dr. Johnson talked about how to profile people’s personalities and how you can witness to those kinds of people. A handful of seniors and juniors went along with a few sophomores. We saw a lot of neat sites like the Coliseum, The Statue of David, The Spanish Steps, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and many other places.

My Soccer Years at RBA Print
Athletics - Soccer

I have played soccer for Ridgewood for four out of the six years I have attended Ridgewood. The varsity coach for the last couple of years has been Pastor Steve Baker, and he was a really good coach. Pastor Steve was the main coach that I really learned the most from.

This year Pastor Steve was not able to coach so the new English teacher Mr. Quinn stepped up and took the position as coach. It was his first year coaching soccer so he was kind of easy on some of us but he really stuck with us through all our losses and really yelled at us during the games to keep our heads high.

I really wasn’t going to play this year but I worked it out so I could. It was a really rough year but I am glad that I played especially since it was my last year and I knew the team needed as much help as they could get. We lost a majority of our games, and had a lot of injuries, but overall this will be one of the most memorable years of soccer. It took a lot of team effort. Even though a lot of people were ready to give up, nobody did and that’s what kept us fighting till the end.

A Memorable JSB!!! Print

A memorable JSB

This is my second time going to JSB at RBA, and this year was definitely better than last year. This JSB was put on by the junior class of Ridgewood Baptist Academy which made it a lot better than what we did last year. The JSB was held at the Marriot in Downers Grove, which is not too far away. We have a skit that is acted out by the juniors of RBA and after that was a great dinner followed by a small fruit dessert. I very much enjoyed this JSB my senior year, and thank the junior class for their hard work!

ImageMy name is Jenny Lundell, and this is my first year here at Ridgewood. Being in Advanced Computers Class has been a lot of fun, as we learned how to make web pages and play around in Gimp (a recommended download for anyone!). We even got to enter in a Web Competition and ended up placing all three places!
